Here is some information about a BSL interpreted performance of the opera 'Carmen'.
The story is set in Spain. All the men are enchanted by Carmen's beauty, except for soldier Don Jose. She seduces him and he helps her escape when she is arrested for starting a fight. After spending a month in prison, he goes to find her and declares his love for her. She asks him to join her band of smugglers, and against his better judgement he gives up everything and agrees.
He soon realises this was a mistake, even more so when he finds out Carmen is already in love with someone else. Blinded by rage, he stabs her to death.
The performance takes place on Friday May 6th at 7pm at Burntwood School in Wandsworth, London. The tickets are free but you do need to book - please click on the weblink below this video to make a booking and for the full event details.
The performance is given by The National Opera Studio NOS, a top music school for opera singers. The interpreter is Wendy Ebsworth, MBE and RSLI.
We hope to see you there!
