Edmund Whitehead is a British répétiteur and conductor. He studied Music at Oxford University, where he was Organ Scholar at Hertford College and Répétiteur Scholar at New College, before training as a Répétiteur and Assistant Conductor Fellow at GSMD. Ed studies Piano with Laura Roberts and Conducting with Colin Metters. He a Park Lane Group Young Artist in collaboration with soprano Elizabeth Karani. As a répétiteur, Ed has worked on Hansel and Gretel (Opera Studio Oxford), Il re pastore, Philip Glass' Galileo Galilei, Tamerlano, and L’infedeltà delusa (New Chamber Opera), La bohème (Opera24/Grimeborn), Adriano in Siria (Opera Settecento), Dvorak's The Cunning Peasant, Henze's Phaedra, The Rape of Lucretia and Martinů’s Ariane and Alexandre Bis (Guildhall School), and Duke Bluebeard's Castle (Cambridge Philharmonic). He has conducted complete runs of Scarlatti's La Giuditta, Cavalli's La Calisto (New Chamber Opera) and Vahan Salorian's Boys of Paradise (Tete-a-tete); assisted on Wolf-Ferrari’s Le donne curiose and Opera Makers (Guildhall); and was chorus master for Oberon (LSSO). Ed recently participated in the ENOA Workshop Opera Coach at Dutch National Opera.
