'I shall be making my ENO debut as Fiorello in Barber of Seville in February with fellow Alumni Benedict Nelson as Figaro, Katherine Broderick as Berta, and David Soar as Don Basilio.
In late june I make my role debut as Papageno (a role I studied at the studio) in Nevill Holt Opera's Magic Flute with fellow 2011/12 trainees Rhian Lois and Anthony Gregory as Pamina and Tamino respectively.
I will also sing at The Cheltenham Festival in a performance of Faure's Requiem at Gloucester Cathedral with The City of London Sinfonia, the combined choirs of Trinity Cambridge, Royal Holloway and Holst Singers, conducted by Stephen Layton.
I then return to ENO in September singing Yamadori in their production of Madam Butterfly.'
We are always keen to hear how our former trainees are getting on out there in the big, wide world of opera! Alex Baker got in touch with his plans for 2013.
Sounds like a full year for Alex - all the best!
