Mark Shanahan, international conductor and Head of Music at the National Opera Studio, spoke with Dame Kiri about her international career as one of the world’s pre-eminent sopranos. A world-renowned artist who has performed on all the major international operatic stages, Dame Kiri revealed how she prepares for a new role, the people who have influenced her career and some of the secrets of the industry. Benefiting from her wisdom, generosity and wonderful sense of humour, our Young Artists performed an entertaining selection of Mozart, Strauss and light opera throughout the evening.
This truly joyful celebration of the operatic art-form drew to a close over drinks and canapés, giving all the opportunity to meet Dame Kiri and our Young Artists.
