Dark, vivid and bursting with life, Don Giovanni is full-blooded opera at its best, combining exquisite music, powerful orchestration, intense drama and lightly crafted comedy.
The creative team behind 2012’s The Magic Flute reunites to bring its hallmark theatricality to Mozart’s extraordinary score and Lorenzo Da Ponte’s lyrics. Jacques Imbrailo, hailed by The Times as ‘the hottest young baritone on the block’ is Don Giovanni, performing alongside NOS Alumni Ed Lyon, Anna Devin, Barnaby Rea, Nicholas Lester, Elin Pritchard, Ross McInroy and current trainee Katie Grosset are all amongst the impressive cast list.
Rising star, Italian Speranza Scappucci conducts. James Grossmith will conduct the performance at Eden Court, Inverness on Say 9 Nov.
David Kettle of The Scotsman commented 'Barnaby Rea bristles with anger and lust as Masetto, and in one telling scene with his fiancee Zerlina (a smouldering Anna Devin) suggests that the Don isn’t the only one with kinky ideas.'
