Andrew Greenwood studied at Clare College at Cambridge, and at London Opera Centre. He was member of Music Staff at Royal Opera 1977-1984, and Chorus Master and Conductor at Welsh National Opera 1984-1990. Since 1990 he has been a freelance conductor, posts including First Conductor at Cologne Opera 1993-95, and Music Director at English Touring Opera since 1996. He has also conducted for WNO, ENO, Royal Danish Opera, Buxton Festival and Chelsea Opera Group, and several orchestras in Britain and abroad. His concerts with BBC National Orchestra of Wales and BBC Concert Orchestra have been broadcast, and he has made recital discs with Dennis O’Neill and Lesley Garrett. His educational work includes coaching and conducting at Royal Danish Academy, Copenhagen, Dartington International Summer School, and NOS.
