Natalie
Murray
Natalie Murray studied at the Sydney Conservatorium
of Music, the Guildhall School of Music and Drama and the National Opera
Studio. She is a Professor at the Royal College of Music and Opera Coach
to the Jette Parker Young Artist Programme (Royal Opera House) and the
National Opera Studio.
Natalie is also Artistic Advisor and Vocal Consultant for Independent
Opera at Sadler’s Wells.
Natalie began her career as a member of the music staff of Welsh National
Opera.
Her opera work includes Don Giovanni, L’elisir d’amore, Carmen,
Il Tabarro, Madama Butterfly, Jephtha, Il ritorno d’Ulisse in Patria
and James MacMillan’s The Sacrifice (WNO), Carmen, The Bartered
Bride (Glyndebourne Festival Opera), Dialogues des Carmelites, Sosarme,
Ezio, The Rape of Lucretia, Cosi fan tutte, Die Fledermaus, Tolomeo, L’enfant
et les Sortileges, L’heure Espangnole, L’incoronatione di
Poppea, Poro, Le nozze di Figaro, The Rake’s Progress (RCM), Maria
Stuarda (English Touring Opera), Il barbiere di Siviglia, Le nozze di
Figaro (Savoy Opera), Luisa Miller, La Rondine, Rigoletto (Opera Holland
Park), Orlando, The Sofa/The Departure (Independent Opera). Natalie has
also worked for the BBC Singer of the World competition in Cardiff.
Natalie is now embarking on a conducting career. She was awarded a Conducting
Scholarship from the London Symphony Chorus in 2007 and has assisted conductors
Rinaldo Alessandrini, Nicholas Kok, Peter Robinson, Dominic Wheeler and
James MacMillan. Natalie has conducted 20 Women Singing for Welsh National
Opera.
