Scottish
born Soprano Joanne Boag studied at RSAMD with Pat Hay. Operatic roles
include: La Bergere L’enfant et les sortilèges, Helena
A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Nannetta Falstaff and Mélisande
Pelléas et Mélisande (all for the Alexander Gibson Opera
School, RSAMD); Iris Semele (BYO) and Nannetta Falstaff (Stanley Hall
Opera).
Joanne’s concert performances include: Haydn’s Harmoniemesse
(Nicholas Kraemer); Liszt’s Christus and Haydn’s Nelson
Mass (Edinburgh Festival); RSNO Opera Gala (Barony Hall, Glasgow). Joanne
has taken part in masterclasses with Dame Felicity Lott, Elly Ameling,
Malcolm Martineau, Martin Katz and Benjamin Luxon and Susan Bullock
(MBF masterclass).
Scholarships and prizes include: the John Mather Study Award, the Tayside
Award and the winner of both the Governors’ Recital Prize and
the Margaret Dick Award (R.S.A.M.D).
Future plans include cover of Sophie Der Rosenkavalier (Scottish Opera).
Joanne’s studies at the National Opera Studio were supported by
the Headley Trust, The Friends of Covent Garden, a Sybil Tutton Award,
A Susan Chilcott Scholarship, and she is a recipient of the Dewar Arts
Award.
