Cameron Burns was both an Academic and Organ Scholar at New College, Oxford where he graduated in 2004 with a starred-first in piano performance. He is also a graduate of CUBEC in Modena, Italy; Cardiff International Academy for Voice; Solit-Perriti Accademia in Castilgione, Italy; Britten-Pears Young Artist Programme, Aldeburgh and the National Opera Studio in London.

He began his intital training learning about the voice, playing for lessons and masterclasses with many singers, coaches and conductors including Mirella Freni, Dame Kiri Te Kanawa, Dame Felicity Lott, Dennis O’Neill, Dame Anne Evans, Sherrill Milnes, Anthony Rolfe Johnson, Susan Bullock, Della Jones, Nuccia Foccile, Michael Chance, Elizabth Connell, Gerald Finley, Joan Rodgers, Kathryn Harries, Sir Richard Armstrong, Martin Isepp, John Fisher and Paola Molinari.

He has been a conducting scholar with the London Symphony Chorus, Assistant Chorus Master at both ENO and Dorset Opera and returns next season to Grange Park Opera for his second season Chorus Master. Credits include: Powder her Face and Salome (ROH and Mariinsky Theatre, St. Petersburg); Faust, A Dog’s Heart, Parsifal, Damnation of Faust, Lucrezia Borgia, The Mikado, La Boheme (ENO); Tristan und Isolde (in preparation for Sir Simon Rattle’s BBC Prom performance of Act II); L’Elisir d’amore; (WNO) Don Giovanni (Aldeburgh Music); The Rake’s Progress (BYO); Cimarosa’s Il Matrimonio Segreto (Barga Opera, Italy); Otello, Lohengrin and Elektra in concert with LSC; Rigoletto, Tristan und Isolde, Tosca (Grange Park Opera); Otello, Tosca (Dorset Opera); Siegfried (National Reisopera, The Netherlands); Ruddigore (Opera North).
