Jean-Yves Cornet repetiteur
A graduate of the Royal Conservatory of Brussels, the Belgian pianist Jean-Yves Cornet took tuition classes with Yevgenia Yarmonenko, who was on her part a piano teacher at Moscow Central School of Music and also assistant of Alexander Goldenveiser and Heinrich Neuhaus. He completed a Masters Degree in Piano Accompaniment at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London, on a scholarship supported by the Leverhulme Trust.
Jean-Yves Cornet is a laureate of several piano competitions in Belgium. Concert engagements have taken him to many prestigious venues in Belgium and abroad. Recently he has had the opportunity to perform at the Oxford Lieder Festival, at the Barbican Concert Hall and he made his debut at the Royal Opera House last June.
During his studies he has received tuition from artists such as Sarah Walker, Edith Wiens, Laura Sarti, Gerlad Finley, and from pianists such as Sir Graham Johnson, Martin Katz, Ian Burnside, Andrew West, Julius Drake and Jonathan Papp.
He also followed conducting classes with Sir Richard Boninge at the Solti-Peretti Accademia.
Jean-Yves Cornet has achieved great recognition as vocal coach and has been involved in diverse opera productions in Belgium and in France. In the past he has been engaged as a teaching assistant as well as a professional accompanist at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels.
Next September he will follow a master course for repetiteur at the National Opera Studio.
