Hanna Hipp mezzo soprano
The Polish mezzo soprano Hanna Hipp holds a Master of Arts degree in Singing from the Academy of Music in Gdańsk, Poland, and a Master of Music degree from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, from whose Opera Course she recently graduated. Hanna remains under the tutelage of Janice Chapman.
Hanna’s wide operatic experience comprises performances in Poland, Germany and the UK in roles including Sesto (Handel Giulio Cesare), Amastris (Handel Serse), Poro (Hasse Cleofide) and Orfeo (Gluck Orfeo ed Euridice), as well as The Anne who Strips (Sallinen The King goes forth to France), Arina (Martinu The Marriage), Aurelio (Donizetti L’assedio di Calais) and Chérubin (Massenet Chérubin) for the Guildhall School and Lucilla (Rossini La scala di seta) and Marianna (Rossini Il Signor Bruschino) for British Youth Opera.
Hanna is also an accomplished concert artist, having performed frequently at the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival, the London Handel Festival, and numerous twentieth-century music festivals in Europe. Her concert repertoire includes solo performances in works including Vivaldi Juditha triumphans, Bach Christmas Oratorio and Magnificat, Handel Messiah, Mozart Requiem and Coronation Mass.
