Born in Valencia, Spain, where she started her musical education, Alison began her studies at the Guildhall School of Muic and Drama as a solo pianist, under the tuition of Peter Bithell, and soon became highly involved as an accompanist. After her BMus (Hons), she continued her studies at the GSMD specialising in this field, obtaining a Masters in Accompaniment under Eugene Asti, Caroline Palmer, Robin Bowman, Graham Johnson Iain Burnside and Gordon Back as well working with Rudolf Jansen and Martin Katz.

Alison’s performance experience encompasses an array of recitals with both singers and instrumentalists across the UK and abroad, in venues including the Purcell Room, Barbican, Holywell Music Room, Edinburgh and Bath Festivals and numerous contemporary ensemble performances including a live broadcast of  James Macmillan’s Parthenogenesis on BBC 3. She has also has a keen interest in educational projects, which has led to a U.K. tour with ensemble Vision for Yamaha and Classic F.M. As an orchestral pianist she has worked extensively at the GSMD as well as for LPYO and Southbank Sinfonia.

As an accompanist she has been a member of staff at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama (2005-2006) and for various summer courses including Académie Internationale d’Eté de Nice, European Chamber Opera and Hand Made Opera.

In 2006-2007 Alison returned to the GSMD to study on the Repetiteur course at the GSMD, with the support of the MBF, during which she worked as repetiteur and continuo player on Le Nozze di Figaro as well as playing for scenes performances. During 2007-08, Alison was the recipient of the MBF’s RSAMD/Scottish Opera Repetiteur Fellowship for which she worked as repetiteur on Eugene Onegin and Così fan tutte, as well as for the scenes performances and musical preparation each term (RSAMD). She joined the staff of Scottish Opera for Il Barbiere di Siviglia (covering as continuo player for Unwrap performances) and Falstaff. This summer she worked on Flight for BYO, before commencing her studies at the National Opera studio.

Alison is kindly supported by the MBF and the Leonard Hancock Memorial Trust.
