Ross McInroy bass

Ross McInroy, bass from Scotland currently studies with Peter Savidge and studied at the RCM Opera School where he was supported by The Janet & Michael Levesley Scholarship. He gained his BMusHons degree studying with Alan Watt and Peter Alexander Wilson at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama where he was awarded the Governors Recital Prize, Linn Choir Prize and Mary D Quant Scholarship. He was also a choral scholar at Paisley Abbey where he sang as principal bass.  Ross went on to obtain a DipRAM Opera distinction award, Dorothy Pattinson Prize and Adah Rogalsky Scholarship from the Royal Academy of Music studying with David Maxwell Anderson. He is grateful to the Cross, Robertson and Josephine Baker Trusts and Dewar Arts Awards for their generous support in his studies. Ross was a member of English National Opera’s “Opera Works” programme 09/10. 
   
Operatic roles include “le Medecin” Pelleas et Melisande; and Bad Robber in The Vanishing Bridegroom; Weir with RSAMD Opera.  RAO roles include Colatinus in Britten’s The Rape of Lucretia, Bartolo in Mozart’s Le nozze di Figaro conducted by Sir Colin Davis, Gremin in Tchaikovsky’s Eugene Onegin.  At the RCM Quince; A Midsummer Nights Dream; Britten and Sarastro in Mozarts Die Zauberflote.

Oratorio engagements include Bach’s St John and Matthew Passions, Handel’s Messiah 
& Judas Maccabeus; Haydn’s Creation, Nelson & St. Nicolas Mass’ and Puccini’s Messa di Gloria.
