Aoife O'Sullivan soprano
Aoife O' Sullivan is 26 years old and has recently completed a Masters in Music Performance at the DIT Conservatory of Music and Drama in Dublin with Edith Forrest and Trudi Carberry. Concert highlights include recitals at Carnegie Hall, New York, the National Concert Hall, Dublin and at the Wexford Opera Festival. Oratorio highlights include Haydn's Creation and the RTE CO under Prionnsias O’ Duinn, Bach’s Magnificat at St. Giles Cathedral, Edinburgh under Michael Harris, Mozart's Requiem both at Glyndebourne under Thomas Blunt and at St. Patrick’s Cathedral, Dublin under Mark Forkgen.
Aoife is a featured artist on the first recording of the entire collection of Moore's Melodies, My Gentle Harp. She was also a soloist on the Festival's national tour of Ireland. She has also recorded Irish opera by Stanford and Wallace, on the Irish Opera Gems CD with Opera theatre Company, and is currently involved in a project to promote Irish composer Aloys Fleischmann.
Aoife has won many major awards including the Glyndebourne Wessex Association Prize and the Thomas Moore Festival Bursary. Feis Ceoil prizes include the John McCormack recital competition, the Dermot Troy Cup for oratorio, the Young Cup and the John McCormack Society bursary. She has been invited to sing for the president of Ireland and her guests and made her television debut as a soloist on RTE's The Late Late Show.
Roles include Theodora Theodora and Second Woman Dido and Aeneas (Yorke Trust Opera, Norfolk), Pamina The Magic Flute (Gleeson Theatre, DIT Conservatory, Dublin) and cover of Jano Jenufa (Glyndebourne Touring Opera). Aoife has been in the chorus at the Glyndebourne Festival 2009, the Glyndebourne Tour 2009 and has returned for the summer season this year. www.aoifeosullivan.net
