Verity Parker soprano

Born on the Wirral, Verity Parker studied singing with Kate Saunders. In 2000 she won the International Musical Theatre Award in Rome and entered the RNCM where she gained her first degree under the tutelage of Susan Roper.  She then went on to complete a Masters degree at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama where she studied with Susan Waters and Laura Sarti.

Operatic experience includes Nannetta/Falstaff (Grange Park Opera), Johanna/Sweeny Todd (Pimlico Opera), Gianetta /L’elisir d’amore(cover GTO), Marzelina/Fidelio (Jerwood Scenes, GFO), Miss Woodhouse/Violet (GSMD), Despina/Cosi fan Tutte (Cover, BYO), and excerpt performances of Zerbinetta/Ariadne of Naxos and The Queen of the Night/Die Zauberflote. She also sang the role of Flora in a Glyndbourne Education Project based on Britten’s The Turn of the Screw and Adina/L’elisir d’amore inGlyndebourne Education workshops. Verity was also am member of the Glyndebourne Festival Chorus for two seasons and sang in the chorus of Britten’s Peter Grimes at the Salzburg Festival.

Concert work includes recitals at St-Martins-in the Fields and the Liverpool Philharmonic Society and Glyndebourne Wessex Society, Carmina Burana at Snape Maltings and Haydn’s Nelson Mass under Wilcocks. In 2005 she won the Great Elm Vocal Award. Future Engagements include The Controller/Flight for British Youth Opera, Nannetta/Falstaff for Pimlico Opera and masterclasses with the Samling Foundation.
