Aidan Smith bass

Aidan Studied at The Guildhall School of Music and The Royal Academy of Music. His singing teacher is Robert Dean.

Most recent engagements include Betto Di Signa in Gianni Schicchi for ETO, Van Bette in Zar und Zimmerman for Opera South, Jevons in Ludd and Isis with the Royal Opera, Antonio in Le Nozze di Figaro for Garsington Opera, Le Corporal for Opera Holland Park and Ben Budge in The Beggar's Opera for The Royal Opera, Save the Diva, a new commission for The Opera Group, Sparafucile in Rigoletto for Opera Novella and The Drunken Poet in The Fairy Queen for Scottish Opera.

Aidan has performed in concert many times in Europe. Highlights included a Messiah in Hamburg,  Winterreise for Chichester International Music festival and concerts in Zimbabwe.

As a chorus member Aidan has recorded Tosca for ORF (featured in the new James Bond film A Quantum of Solace), Acis and Galatea and Dido and Anaeas for the BBC and Opus Arte and The Beggar’s Opera (playing Ben Budge) for Chandos.
