Lee
Bisset studied at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama; and after
graduating moved to Italy where she taught English and studied privately
for three years. As a post-graduate at the Royal Northern College of Music
she won the Dame Eva Turner Award, the Webster Booth Award and the Joyce
and Michael Kennedy Strauss Prize.
Lee
has taken part in masterclasses with: Bonaldo Giaotti, Ben Luxon, Katia
Ricciarelli and Luciano Pavarotti and Renata Scotto. She studies with
Peter Alexander Wilson. Concert appearances include Mozart’s Requiem,
Handel’s Samson, Strauss’s Four Last Songs, Verdi’s
Requiem and Handel’s Messiah.
She created the role of Lady Hamilton in the premiere of Rupert Bawden’s
opera The Sailor’s Tale for The Yorke Trust. She sang the role of
Tatiana in Eugene Onegin for Clonter Opera, and Donna Elvira in Don Giovanni
at the Ryedale festival. Future engagements include the role of Fiordiligi
in Cosi’ fan tutte for Grange Park Opera in July 2004. She attended
the National Opera Studio where she was sponsored by English National
Opera.
