Sinead
Campbell soprano
Sinead
Campbell graduated with a first class Honours degree in performance from
the DIT Conservatory of Music and Drama in 2002, where she studied with
Mary Brennan and Mairead Hurley. She was awarded the Michael McNamara
Gold Medal for outstanding performance, and the D.I.T. Gold Medal for
academic excellence. In 2003 she received the John Small bursary at Wexford
Festival Opera.
She
was awarded the French song prize at the 1999 National Mozart Competition,
Southport, and was a finalist in the RTE Millennium Singer of the Future
competition, Dublin.
Oratorio
performances include; Handel Messiah, and Bach Christmas
Oratorio at the National Concert Hall, Dublin; Rossini Messe
Sollenelle at Trinity College; Rutter Requiem in Wexford
conducted by John Rutter; Vivaldi Gloria St. Anne's, Dublin and
Mozart Mass in F as part of the 2003 Wexford Festival Opera.
Operatic
roles include; Inez Die Drei Pintos (Von Weber/Mahler) Wexford
Festival Opera 2003; Oriana Amadigi at the 2003 Batignano Opera
Festival, Italy; Pamina The Magic Flute and Bubikopf The
Emperor of Atlantix (Ullman) for Opera Theatre Company; Dalinda Ariodante
for both Opera Theatre Company and Early Opera Compny; Donna Elvira Don
Giovanni in the Opera Ireland/DIT mini production, Flora Bervoix
La Traviata in the National Concert Hall for Lyric Opera Comany.
Concerts
and recitals include; Killaloe Music Festival 2002, WFO Friends Concert,
RDS, Duiblin, a lunchtime concert with the National Symphony Orchestra
of Ireland at the National Concert Hall, Dubin; Lieder recitals the the
Bank of Ireland Arts Centre, including Frauenliebe und Leben
(Schumann), 2003
She
continues her vocal studies with Janice Chapman. Sinead's studies at the
Studio are supported by the Nicholas John Trust and the Friends of Covent
Garden.
