Since
moving to London, Emma has performed regularly as a soloist at venues
such as St. John's, Smith Square, and the Royal Albert Hall.
Her
operatic roles have included Teofane, Ottone; Emilia, Flavio;
Laurette, Le Docteur Miracle, all at the RCM; Governess, The
Turn of the Screw, for the Britten-Pears School; Fiordiligi, Così
fan tutte, for Mananan Opera Festival; 2nd Bridesmaid, Le nozze
di Figaro, Glyndebourne Festival Opera; and Donna Elvira, Don
Giovanni, for Oper Frankfurt.
Prizes
and awards have included the David Kelly Prize at the National Mozart
Competition in 1998, Clytie Mundy Prize, Ted Moss Lieder Prize, and
the John Ireland Prize. Emma was the winner of the ISM Sheffield Singing
Competition in 1999, and also awarded second place in the National
Mozart Competition.
Emma
studied at the National Opera Studio in 2002/03. Her studies were
supported by Opera North, Sybil Tutton Charitable Trust, The Countess
of Munster Musical Trust, Worshipful Company of Grocers, David Bowerman,
the Cornwall Music Foundation and the Radford Trust.
