Andrew Macmillan Repetiteur

Born in Australia, ANDREW MACMILLAN grew up in New Zealand and is currently resident in the UK.

He studied at Victoria University (Wellington) and Cambridge and trained as a repetiteur at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama.

Recent work has included Anna Bolena, La Tragedie de Carmen (Bizet/Constant), Handelfest (Tolomeo, Flavio, Alcina, Ariodante, Teseo) and Fantastic Mr Fox (Picker) for ETO. He has worked with many companies across the UK including Opera Holland Park, Garsington Opera and Aldeburgh Music and appeared in the Greenwich Music Festival USA. In 2007 he was music director for a groundbreaking multi-media production of Tales of Hoffmann for the Grimeborn Festival; for Aldeburgh Music he conducted four new short operas as part of the Jerwood Opera Writing Programme; in 2011 he conducted the world premiere of Manga Sister by Harry Blake at the Yard Theatre.

Andrew’s studies at the NOS were supported by a Jean Dunlop Bursary, a Nelly Goner Award and the Friends of Covent Garden and he was the grateful recipient of an MBF Award for Repetiteurs in 2004/5.
