Joslyn
studied in Australia at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, gaining
a B.Mus. and Diploma in Operatic Art. During her training, Josplyn
was the recipient of the Big Brother Scholarship for study in England,
was a finalist in the Joan Sutherland Society Award, and was awarded
the Edgerton Scholarship for her graduating mark. She was also a
soloist with the Conservatorium Chorale, and performed the roles
of Olga and Prince Charmant in student productions.
After
graduating, she joined the cast of Phantom of the Opera as
a Madame Giry cover and ensemble member. Joslyn then travelled to
America on a scholarship to give recitals in Salt Lake City, Los
Angeles and New York.
Joslyn
was a member of the 1998 Young Artists' Program with Opera Australia,
and worked with the company as a principal artist from 1997. Roles
included: Siebel, Mercedes, Ursula, The Fox, Third Lady, Annio,
Annina, and the title role in Orlando. She has also performed
with the Melbourne, Sydney, and Tasmanian Symphony Orchestras, the
Australian Chamber Orchestra, given a recital for the Sydney Festival,
and performed in special events concerts for Opera Australia and
for Stompin' Dance Company.
Joslyn
was the winner of the 2000 Opera
Foundation Australia Covent Garden Scholarship to the National
Opera Studio and has recently completed a further year with the
Cologne Opera Studio.
