Michael John White
studied the piano at the Yehudi Menuhin School, RNCM, and the Hochschule
für Musik, Frankfurt. He was a répétiteur scholar at
the RSAMD and, more recently, a trainee répétiteur at the
National Opera Studio, where his studies were supported by Friends of
Covent Garden, a Nelly Groner Bursary and the John Wates Charitable Trust.
His piano teachers included Louis Kentner, Seta Tanyel, Allan Schiller
and Joachim Volkmann. He also studied conducting with Edward Warren and
Alastair Mitchell. Michael has participated in major international piano
competitions, also in masterclasses with internationally renowned pianists.
He has worked as accompanist at both the RWCMD and the Junior Guildhall
where he has also worked as choir trainer. In 2006 he was on the music
staff at ENO in the capacity of Trainee Répétiteur. As a
freelance répétiteur, Michael has worked for several companies
including WNO and The Royal Opera, Covent Garden.
