Liverpool-born tenor Daniel Shelvey received his BMus Hons from the Royal Northern College of Music, a Masters of Music from Guildhall School of Music and Drama and completed the Opera Course at GSMD under the tutelage of Robert Dean. Daniel has performed Marchese La traviata, Flora’s Servant La traviata and Morales (cover) Carmen for Glyndebourne Festival Opera; Junius The Rape of Lucretia, Robert Iolanta, Damian The Tale of Januarie for GSMD; Sid Albert Herring, Ulisse Il ritorno d’Ulisse in patria, Boris Paridise Moscow for the RNCM. He has also been a member of the Glyndebourne Festival Opera Chorus. Soloist concert highlights include Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9 with the Hallé and Kinshasa Orchestras, and at the Royal Festival Hall for the BBC and the Oxford Lieder Festival. Daniel was a Kathleen Ferrier Award finalist, won the Richard Van Allan award 2015, is a Countess of Munster Recital Artist 2015, was a Glyndebourne Jerwood Young Artist 2014, won second place in the Elizabeth Harwood Memorial Award 2013 and was the winner of the Frederick Cox Prize 2012.
