Florent Mourier is a French pianist and répétiteur specialising in solo repertoire and collaborative piano, specifically vocal accompaniment. He graduated from the Artist Masters’ course in solo performance and piano accompaniment at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, having studied with Pamela Lidiard, Charles Owen and Martin Roscoe. He is an active performer who regularly gives recitals in the UK, France and the Netherlands. He has played at the Wigmore Hall, the Barbican Hall and Milton Court in London, the Royal Castle of Collioure and the Fondation Royaumont in France, Utrecht’s Tivoli Vredenburg and the Amsterdam Concertgebouw in the Netherlands. Both as a solo and a collaborative pianist, he has participated in masterclasses with Dmitri Bashkirov, Pascal Devoyon, Martin Katz, Malcolm Martineau, Iain Burnside, Graham Johnson, Julius Drake, Renee Fleming, Edith Wiens, Angelika Kirchschlager, Gerald Finley, Richard Stokes, Wolfgang Holzmair and Joyce di Donato. Florent is a laureate of the 2013 Roma International Piano Competition and the 2016 Dutch Classical Talent Competition. He performed a tour of twelve song recitals at major venues in the Netherlands in April 2017. He also took part in the 2016 Oxford Lieder Festival Mastercourse. Florent has worked as a répétiteur on productions of Zemlinsky’s Eine Florentinische Tragödie (Fondation Royaumont/Opéra de Rennes), Mozart’s Magic Flute (GSMD) and Verdi’s Falstaff (Royaumont). Florent is an ENOA Young Artist, a Britten-Pears Young Artist, a laureate of the Fondation Royaumont and a member of the Académie du Festival d’Aix-en-Provence. He will be a pianist/vocal coach at the Scuola di Bel Canto, Urbania in August 2018.
