Born in Almaty, Kazakhstan, Ukrainian mezzo-soprano Kseniia Nikolaieva studied at the Kherson Music School before entering the Tchaikovsky National Music Academy in Kiev, from which she received her Bachelors’ and Masters’ degrees, as well as a doctorate in Music. Her operatic roles include Hivria Sorochinskaya yarmarka, Marta Iolanta, Olga Eugene Onegin, Maddalena Rigoletto, Lubasha The Tsar’s Bride and Dritte Dame Die Zauberflöte, all at the National Music Academy of Ukraine. She has taken part in masterclasses with Montserrat Caballe, Elena Obraztsova, Ludmila Monastyrska and Anita Rachvelishvili.
Most recently, Kseniia won the Special Prize at the Francisco Viñas International Singing Competition 2019, and was a Finalist in the International Eva Marton Singing Competition 2018. She was also a Finalist in the Neue Stimmen international singing competition 2015, and a Semi-Finalist in the Mykola Lysenko Music Competition 2012. She came first in the Vorzel Vocal Competition in 2013.
