Our Partners

Supporting industry professionals

Analysis of our alumni and regular contact with our partner opera companies and industry professionals shows us that the time our young artists spend at the Studio often makes the single biggest difference to their future prospects as top-level solo artists. Many NOS-trained singers, such as Gerald Finley CBE, Susan Bullock CBE, Lesley Garrett CBE, Jean Rigby, Alice Coote and Joan Rodgers CBE, to name just a few, have gone on to build highly successful careers at an international level. Our repetiteurs are international festival directors, conductors, Artistic Directors, and are on the music and artistic staff of major companies in the UK and abroad.

The NOS also supports emerging talent. We provide short courses and other opportunities for emerging singers, repetiteurs, conductors, directors and stage managers. We work with local schools to identify and support young talent as well as offering our young artists the rewarding learning opportunities that working with children and young people can offer. We present public performances for the benefit of audiences in London and around the UK.

Partners

The National Opera Studio is unique in that we work in partnership with not one, but six major opera companies:

As a small, independent training organisation, we believe strongly in the strength of partnership working, the nurture and cultivation of relationships, and an open and collaborative outlook. We believe best practice is best shared, and we foster and develop our relationships in the UK and abroad for the benefit of our artists and our organisation, as well as the wider sector.
