As you will know, the world of music and opera has been devastated by COVID-19  and, following a year in which our Young Artists triumphed in spite of the pandemic, we have launched an appeal “Sustaining Success” to raise vital funds to continue to provide professional training at the highest level to this and next year’s group of outstanding artists.

NOS alumni represent some of opera’s most prominent global talent. From the 2019-20 cohort nine of the Young Artists gained positions in opera houses around the world including the Royal Opera House; English National Opera; the Metropolitan Opera, New York and the Bayerische Staatsoper, Munich.

In normal times funding for the Studio’s main artistic programme is supplemented by earned income – from hiring out our facilities in Wandsworth to running short summer courses, alongside ticket revenue from our numerous public performances. However this is not now possible, yet at the same time we have a responsibility to our Young Artists to provide as much training and subsistence support as possible, and, in spite of the challenges, we remain committed to delivering the usual high level of coaching, resilience training, residency programmes, performance and audition experiences for which we are renowned.

We are delighted to be able to tell you that the first £50,000 of funding which we have now raised was match funded by the Nicholas John Trust to whom we say a huge ‘Thank You’ and of course meaning that we have raised £100,000!  However, looking ahead, we know that we will be going through difficult times in the next few months and we want to be certain that, as we begin our audition process for 2021 /2022,  that we have the funding secured.

Please help us by donating if you are able. All donations, at any level, will be warmly received and hugely appreciated.
