About the course
About the course
Opera singers are increasingly offered opportunities to participate in performances and activities in education and community settings – which may range from working in schools to care homes, libraries to hospitals and sports arenas to playgrounds. This work is invaluable in inspiring the next generation of artists and audiences.
But how does a singer adapt their practice for these different settings?
This free short course will help you to nurture your creative and strategic thinking and equip you with a beginners tool box to empower you to approach this work with confidence and imagination.
Over 4 days you will collaborate with school teachers, opera companies and experienced artists working in opera education and engagement to focus on primary and secondary school activities. The course will culminate with a visit and performance which you will be involved in delivering to a local primary school.
