Our next alum recital features 2022/23 alum Felix Gygli.

Swiss baritone Felix Gygli is a prizewinner of the Kathleen Ferrier Awards 2023, the Lied Prize at the Queen Sonja Competition 2024, and the winner of the Eastbourne International Singing Competition 2024. At the Verbier Festival 2023 he was awarded the Prix Thierry Mermod.
In the 2025/26 season he will make his debut as Schaunard in La bohème at Theater St. Gallen, return to Opernhaus Zürich as Count Dominik in Arabella, and sing the St Matthew Passion with Gli Angeli Genève. Previously, he appeared at Opernhaus Zürich in the title role of Elijah (Mendelssohn) under Gianandrea Noseda.
He was a member of the Zurich International Opera Studio, where his roles included Phileas Fogg in Jonathan Dove’s Around the World in 80 Days.
A passionate recitalist, he regularly appears with JongSun Woo, Tomasz Domanski, and Pierre-Nicolas Colombat, performing works such as Schubert’s Winterreise and programmes focusing on 20th-century repertoire in Switzerland, France, England, and the United States.
He received his training at the National Opera Studio, the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London and at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis. He is a current City Music Foundation Artist and has been generously supported by Helpmusicians UK and the Hildegard Zadek Foundation.
