Auditions Day is a unique opportunity for opera singers to experience the realities of professional auditions in a supportive, hands-on environment. Part of the Studio Saturdays series, this intensive day combines mock auditions with expert guidance on creating a standout audition package.

Mock Auditions:
Perform in front of our expert panel, Elaine Kidd (RBO) and Sarah-Jane Davies (Scottish Opera), and receive practical, constructive feedback on your performance, repertoire choices, and presentation.
Audition Package Workshop:
Learn how to craft a compelling CV, produce impactful audition videos, manage communications, and respond effectively to feedback led by Lottie Gulliver (Opera Casting Consultant & Producer).
Reflection & Feedback:
Join a group discussion at the end of the day to consolidate learning, highlight key strengths, and identify next steps for your career.
Whether you’re preparing for upcoming auditions or looking to strengthen your professional profile, Auditions Day provides the practical experience and expert guidance you need to take your singing career to the next level.

Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must meet all the following requirements.
- Must be over 21 years old
- Applicants must have completed, or be currently undertaking, advanced professional vocal training, including:
- A postgraduate / master’s degree in Vocal Performance / Opera
- Full-time study at a recognised opera school, conservatoire, or national academy
- Equivalent advanced professional training at an internationally recognised institution
- The course is intended for trained opera singers preparing for professional auditions and contracts.
- Applicants should be at advanced student, studio artist, or early-career professional level and demonstrate readiness for professional auditions.
- Applicants must be able to present:

- At least two contrasting operatic arias in original languages

- Repertoire that is fully memorised and technically secure
- Applicants must be actively pursuing a career in opera, intending to audition for opera companies, Young Artist Programmes, and professional engagements, and prepared to work at a high professional level.
Applicants must submit:
- A CV detailing education and performance experience
- A recent video recording of operatic repertoire
Places are limited and offered by selection only. Meeting the eligibility criteria does not guarantee acceptance.
