Illuminating Darkness | National Opera Studio

The Young Artists of the National Opera Studio perform Illuminating Darkness, devised and directed by Olivia Fuchs.

Following their week-long residency with Opera North in Leeds, the National Opera Studio’s Young Artists present their opera scenes production in a free, livestreamed performance from the Studio’s Blackburn Hall.

Woven together by acclaimed opera director Olivia Fuchs, Illuminating Darkness features scenes from such celebrated operas as Don Giovanni (Mozart), L’elisir d’amore (Donizetti), The Barber of Seville (Rossini), Giulio Cesare (Handel), Billy Budd (Britten) and Le Villi (Puccini).

This performance features piano accompaniment from our four highly-skilled repetiteurs.
