Carmen Lázaro

Bio

Carmen Lázaro is a Spanish mezzo-soprano. In 2025, she completed her postgraduate studies at the Universität Mozarteum Salzburg, where she studied with Mario Díaz. 

In 2024, she earned a Master’s degree in Operatic Performance at the Conservatorio Superior de Música Joaquín Rodrigo, studying singing with Gloria Fabuel. She also holds an undergraduate degree in singing with First Class Honours, as well as a degree in viola, from the same institution. 

She has received masterclasses from distinguished artists including Elīna Garanča, Mariella Devia, Dolora Zajick, Elena Pankratova, Ramón Vargas, Ernesto Palacio, Laura Polverelli, and Solveig Kringleborn. 

Her operatic roles include Nicklausse Les contes d’Hoffmann, L’enfant L’enfant et les sortilèges, Contessa Melibea Il viaggio a Reims, Enrico Elisabetta, regina d’Inghilterra (Den Norske Opera & Ballet), Rosina Il barbiere di Siviglia (Teatro de la Maestranza), Armelinde Cendrillon(Palau de Les Arts Reina Sofía), and Romeo I Capuleti e i Montecchi (Universität Mozarteum Salzburg). 

In 2023, she joined the “Crescendo” programme of Teatro Real. She is part of the 2025/26 Wigmore French Song Exchange at Wigmore Hall. She has also been selected for the prestigious programme Le Jardin des Voix and will tour internationally with Les Arts Florissants.
