Clover Kayne

Bio

London-born mezzo-soprano Clover Kayne is praised for her flexible, warm tone and magnetic stage presence. She completed her Advanced Diploma with Royal Academy Opera, studying with Kate Paterson and Jonathan Papp, and graduated with the Regency Award. During her studies, she was runner-up in the Richard Lewis Award and a finalist in the Royal Over-Seas League Annual Music Competition. While at the Royal Academy of Music she was a member of the Academy Song Circle and was supported by the Carr-Gregory Award, the Hannah Horowitz Award and the Opera Awards Foundation. She is a Josephine Baker Trust Artist. 

In 2024 she was selected as a Young Artist at the Georg Solti Accademia and joins Garsington Opera as an Alvarez Emerging Artist for the 2026 season. 

Her operatic roles include Hänsel Hänsel und Gretel (Royal Academy Opera); Ariodante Ariodante (Royal Academy Opera); Ottavia L’incoronazione di Poppea (Hampstead Garden Opera); Florence Pike Albert Herring (Royal Academy Opera); and the Fox The Cunning Little Vixen (Royal Academy Opera). She appears regularly with Opera Prelude and has performed at Wigmore Hall for the French Song Exchange.
