Jessica’s time at the Studio is supported by donors to the Studio.
Jessica Lawley is a soprano from Derbyshire, studying under the tutelage of Anne Mason. She recently completed her MA at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama Opera School (RWCMD), where she was awarded the Phillipa and David Seligman Award for Excellence. Jessica previously completed her BMus and MPerf at the Royal College of Music (RCM), and is also a Samling Artist.
Jessica was a 2024 Alvarez Young Artist at Garsington Opera, where she performed First Bridesmaid and covered Barbarina in Le nozze di Figaro, as well as performing Barbarina in the Opera First production. In 2026 she covers Female Chorus in The Rape of Lucretia (Hampstead Garden Opera) and performs Servilia in La clemenza di Tito (Buxton International Festival).
Operatic roles include Monica in Menotti’s The Medium (RWCMD); Donna Elvira in Don Giovanni (RWCMD); Donna Ximena in Gazzaniga’s Don Giovanni Tenorio (RCM); Charity Taylor in Larsen’s Barnum’s Bird (RCM); and Frou-Frou in Die lustige Witwe (RCM). Roles performed in opera scenes include Anne Trulove in The Rake’s Progress (RWCMD); Magda in La rondine (RWCMD); Adina in L’elisir d’amore (RWCMD); Euridice in Orfeo ed Euridice (RCM); Susanna in Le nozze di Figaro (RCM); and Dalinda in Ariodante (RCM).
