Young Artists' Programme

At the National Opera Studio, we offer one of the world’s most formative experiences for young opera singers and repetiteurs who are about to take the biggest step of all into a fully professional career. Working closely with our partner opera companies, we take the utmost care to select singers with the greatest potential and provide them with a nine-month programme that includes, at its heart, exposure to a great range the skills needed to be an opera singer working at the highest level.

There are around 12 singers and four repetiteurs who are accepted onto our Young Artist Programme each year. That helps us give our full attention to every person as well as to the collective. The balance between individual work while creating a company ethos is central to what we do.

The Young Artists Programme accepts applications from singers and repetiteurs from around the world.  Our training is completely free, and we welcome applicants from all backgrounds.

Each year, we hold roadshows at conservatoires and music colleges across the UK and Ireland, and an open day every November, where you can find out more about the Young Artists' Programme, and speak to members of our core team.  Contact us to find out when we are next in your area.
