We exist to train exceptionally talented young musicians to become the leading artists of their generation. Our selection process is open to all, irrespective of background and financial resources, and one of our core strategies is to proactively search for diverse talent.
Our Young Artists to do not pay fees to train and, in addition, we support them financially if they need help.
The Studio attracts the world's finest professional singers, conductors, directors and coaches to work with its Young Artists; to lead individual coaching sessions, masterclasses and workshops, and to offer advice and support. In addition, our Young Artists take part in our unique regional residencies and showcases. We also focus on artist resilience and aim to ensure that everyone has the skills, personal strategies and strength of mental health that are needed for them to succeed today.
Although we are fortunate to have funding from Arts Council England and from our Partner Companies, this amounts to less than 40% of our total funding need.
By supporting our work you can become part of the National Opera Studio family. Our supporters are encouraged to get to know the young artists and to follow them on their journey, seeing first-hand the fascinating process of professional development that they experience. It is a truly rewarding process.
