Joining the course

Within one week of receiving your payment, we will send you an email with an attendee form. This form will be reviewed by NOS, after which we will confirm your place.

The NOS reserves the right to make changes to course content if circumstances require it. It may be necessary, on occasion, to alter scheduling during the course (if, for example, a coach is ill). We try to keep this to a minimum, and will do our best to provide equivalent content. Please note we are not able to accommodate N/A requests during NOS Short Courses.

Cancellation by NOS

The NOS reserves the right to cancel a course. If this occurs, we will refund your course fee in full.

Cancellation by you

If you cancel your booking for any short course, we ask that you give us at least four weeks’ notice in writing. If you provide at least four weeks’ notice, we will refund 75% of the fee, endeavouring to do so within 10 working days. We will retain 25% to cover our administrative costs. If you give us less than four weeks’ notice, we will not be able to offer you a refund.

Health & Safety

All participants must comply with NOS Health & Safety regulations and must take care at all times to ensure their own safety as well as that of their fellow participants. Personal belongings are the responsibility of participants and the NOS cannot be held responsible for loss of personal items. No insurance is provided.

Observing sessions

Persons who are not enrolled on NOS Short Courses are not allowed to observe sessions, apart from specific showcase performances at the end of each course. Members of NOS Staff and coaches may observe group or “masterclass” sessions during NOS Short Courses.

Recording / filming

Participants on each short course will agree to observe the National Opera Studio guidelines with regard to photography and filming, provided on the first day of each course.

Crediting “National Opera Studio” or “NOS” in CVs, biographies or public articles

Participants enrolled on NOS Short Courses should not use the expression “trained at (the) National Opera Studio” (or any such statement) on their CVs, biographies or any public articles.

Participants may use the term “National Opera Studio Short Course Participant”.

By applying to enrol on a National Opera Studio short course, you agree that you have read and understood the terms and conditions above including the refund policy. You agree to the NOS processing personal data contained in the enrolment form, or other data which the NOS may obtain from you or other people whilst you are a participant, for purposes connected with your studies, your health and safety or for any other legitimate reasons.
