Chinese soprano Heming Li was the winner of the 2022 International Concerto Competition and a finalist in the Croydon Concerto Competition and the International Festival of Operatic Singers “Maria Kraja.”
Her operatic experience includes Liù Turandot (The Opera Maker), Violetta La Traviata (Manchester City Opera), Königin der Nacht Die Zauberflöte (RCM Opera School), Controller Flight (RCM Opera School), Marguerite Faust (Arcadian Opera), and Donna Anna Don Giovanni (Arcadian Opera).
Claire Seymour praised her voice, stating it “soared through the stratospheric arcs with ease” and noted her “astonishingly clear diction, the color, and tone immensely gratifying” (Opera Today). Her portrayal of Liù Turandot (The Opera Maker) received acclaim from many critics, with Karl O’Doherty of The Review Hub describing it as a “standout performance delivered with beautiful vocals and finely judged acting,” and Raphael Kohn of All That Dazzles noting that she “lit the stage up brilliantly every time she appeared.”
Heming Li graduated with a Master of Performance degree with distinction from the Royal College of Music (RCM). During her studies at the RCM, she worked with renowned musicians such as Marie Mclaughlin, Nelly Miricioiu, Justin Lavender, Luciana Serra, and Mario Diaz. She collaborated with globally recognized conductors such as Martin Andre, Juan Antonio Ortuño, Kai Röhrig, Sergio Baietta, and others. Additionally, she had the honour of performing for His Majesty King Charles III in concerts during his visit to RCM in November 2021. She previously graduated with a Master of Art degree from the University of Birmingham and an Undergraduate Performance degree from China Conservatory of Music.
