Croatian soprano Nikolina Hrkać graduated with a Master of Music (Vocal Performance) from the Music Academy in Zagreb (Croatia) in 2023. Her exceptional talent has been recognized through numerous awards and accolades, including being a double prize winner at the International Singing Competition Kammeroper Schloss Rheinsberg. She also won 1st Prize at the International Singing Competition Lav Mirski in Osijek in 2018 and The Musical Youth Award at Lions Grand Prix Competition in Rijeka in 2017. Moreover, she was honoured with the Dean’s Award in 2020/2021 and The Rector’s Award in 2021/2022 at the Music Academy in Zagreb.
In her operatic experience, Nikolina has portrayed various roles, including Ännchen Der Freischütz (Brixen Classics Festival), Bastienne Bastien und Bastienne (Croatian National Theatre, Varaždin), Berta Il barbiere di Siviglia (Croatian National Theatre, Zagreb), La Fée Cendrillon (Music Academy Zagreb), Noémie Cendrillon (Music Academy Zagreb), The Shepherd in Jakov Gotovac’s Ero The Jocker (Croatian National Theatre, Zagreb), and The Voice La Rondine (Croatian National Theatre, Zagreb).
She has also performed in contemporary opera and operetta, taking on roles such as The Pig Squealer in Igor Kuljerićs The Animal Farm (Concert Hall Vatroslav Lisinski) and Violetta Valery in Linda Uran’s Priležnici (Theatre Komedija).
In addition to her operatic repertoire, Nikolina has an impressive concert repertoire, which includes Johann Sebastian Bach’s Jauchzet Gott in allen Landen, Angelo in Handel’s La Resurrezione, Telemann’s Zuerne nur du alte Schlange, and Alessandro Melani’s Qual mormorio giocondo.
Notably, in 2022, she participated in the Brixen Classics Festival, where she performed the role of Ännchen Der Freischütz alongside renowned artists Michael Volle, Christopher Ventris, and Gabriela Scherer, under the baton of maestro Daniel Geiss.
